The Provocation

AI is getting better at everything we thought made us special. What if that's not a threat but an invitation? The future human isn't augmented. It's both uncovered and expanded. We are recovering capacities modernity trained us out of, intuitive knowing, participatory perception, the ability to hold multiple frames without collapsing them, and at the same time moving into territory we have never occupied before. Grounded in two decades of international conflict-resolution work, contemplative traditions, and emerging consciousness research, the claim is simple: the expanded human is not a futurist fantasy. It is what happens when we recover what was buried and go deeper simultaneously.

02

Beyond the Party Trick: Ethics and the Anomalous

We are professionalizing a field that studies lives changed by the inexplicable. We had better know what we are doing. Extraordinary experiences can crack a life open toward compassion, service, and depth. They can also produce predators, cult leaders, and unchecked certainty. What determines which path someone takes? Ethics is not an add-on to this research; it is embedded in every methodological choice. Rooted in doctoral work investigating what shapes the difference between transformation and inflation.

03

How to Say I Don't Know

The opposite of certainty isn't ignorance. It's wonder. Somewhere in the last three centuries we conflated certainty with intelligence and wonder with naïveté. The cost of that mistake is surfacing across mental health, institutional trust, and our capacity to meet what is already happening in front of us. Wonder, reclaimed as a trained practice, for individuals and cultures in a moment that needs one.

04

Agency After the Extraordinary

You are neither a machine running its program nor the sovereign author of your life. Both stories are wrong; a third one fits the evidence better. Built on peer-reviewed research into transformation following near-death, contact, and mystical experiences, this talk reframes agency as participatory responsiveness: real, relational, authored, but not autonomous.
